Mr Passamonti is an independent financial advisor. He has been serving as Independent Non-Executive Director on the Boards of the BlueBay Funds (SICAV, Structured Funds and Hedge Funds). Concurrently, he is Board member and Treasurer of the European Cyclists’ Federation in Brussels (Belgium) and Vice Chairman of the NGO Ground Truth Solutions in Vienna (Austria). Prior to the current Board activities, Mr Passamonti worked for 22 years for the World Bank Group (1992-2014), lastly as Coordinator of the Vienna Financial Sector Advisory Centre (2011-2014) and Technical Advisor to the Central Bank of Nigeria (2010), supporting the execution of the FSS2020 Financial Sector Reform Strategy. For five years (2005-2009) he ran, as Head and Founder, the World Bank’s Convergence Program focusing on public-private financial modernization in South-East Europe. In the World Bank, Mr Passamonti also held senior corporate positions as Senior Advisor to the Financial Sector Vice President and as Assistant to the President.  Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr Passamonti was a Senior Investment Officer for equity and debt investment activities in African banks for the Washington DC-based International Financial Corporation (IFC); Head of JP Morgan’s Italian capital market activities; Project Leader with Boston Consulting Group and General Manager of Basinvest Merchant Bank.

Mr. Passamonti has degrees in Economics (BA and MA) from the Free University of Brussels; holds the INSEAD IDP Certificate and is an ILA Certified Director (Luxembourg). He has attended Executive Education programs at Harvard University, Stanford University and National University of Singapore.
