Board Composition : Interview with Christophe Dupont-Madinier

The ILA Board Composition committee's goal is to assist boards to be future ready, which means helping them opening up to skills and competencies (such as cybersecurity, sustainability, digitalisation) that need to be integrated at board-level to successfully address future challenges.

With this objective in mind, we have interviewed a number of board members to better understand the challenges they are facing today, the competencies they are missing and the issues they encounter when looking for this expertise.

ILA and the Board Composition Committee are drafting the "Future Director Program", a program that aims to provide to ILA members these new competencies, to prepare talents that have the know-how to become board-ready and help overcome challenges with onboarding new talent.

The first two events within the "ILA Future Directors Program" that took place on Nov 30th and December 1st, hosted by Dr Ravi Fernando (Executive in residence at INSEAD Social Innovation Centre), addressed the subject of sustainability (climate change and new technologies). The substantial number of attendees was a clear evidence that there is a strong interest among the younger generation to participate in a broader program in order to become board-ready.

The first edition of the 'ILA Young Directors Program' in conjunction with INSEAD will take place before summer 2019.
